How to turn Instagram followers into booked clients

· 2 min read

A phone showing a studio profile

Studios often work on the wrong problem. They try to get more followers, while the real loss happens somewhere else: between the person looking at the photos and the person who books.

A link that goes straight to a time slot

Your bio should have one link, and it should lead to a page where people can pick a time. The home page, an email address or "send me a DM" all add a step.

Every extra step between the decision and the confirmation loses some people. An extra message means the client only books if you happen to be at your phone. We covered why booking through DMs stops working in an earlier post.

Prices where people can see them

The most common message a studio profile gets is a question about price. Each one costs you a minute and plants a doubt in the client's mind. Prices on your booking page replace that conversation, and the people who would haggle drop out on their own. How to set them is covered in our post on pricing.

The first reply decides

Someone who messages you expects an answer within hours, not days. If you reply in the evening after work, say so in your bio. An expectation you set yourself is one you can meet.

Once you have a booking page, the reply is usually simple: send the link and let the person choose a time that really suits them.

What to post

Photos of your work beat everything else, but only when they make clear what a client can book. Ten similar photos without captions are a gallery. A photo with a line about what it was, how long it took and what it cost is an offer.

How to tell it is working

Follower count will not tell you. Count the bookings that came through your booking page in the week after a post. That number shows which posts are worth repeating and which are a waste of time.
