Looking for a Reservio alternative? When it makes sense to switch
· 3 min read
Reservio is one of the best known booking systems in Czechia. It has been around for years, plenty of salons use it, and for many of them it is a good choice. This article is written by us, a competitor, so treat it as one point of view and compare it with what Reservio says about itself.
When Reservio is enough and you do not need to switch
- You have a website you are happy with and only need a booking button or widget on it.
- You want a system with a long track record and a large user base.
- You need features that smaller systems lack, such as group classes or passes.
If that sounds like you, switching will probably cost you more work than it gives back.
When it makes sense to look for an alternative
You have no website, or you do not like the one you have. A booking system that plugs into a website assumes the website already exists. Without one, you pay separately for the website and for bookings, and then you still have to connect them. The alternative is a system where the website is part of the package: a studio page with services, prices, photos and booking in one place.
Some of your clients do not speak the local language. In larger cities and tourist areas many clients are foreigners who live there or are visiting. If the booking page speaks their language, more of them book on their own instead of messaging you.
You want the client to belong to you. Systems differ in whether the client registers with the platform or simply leaves a name and phone number with you. For a small studio the second option is better: fewer steps and no third party between you and your client.
No-shows are a problem. Almost every system sends reminders these days. The real difference is a deposit paid at booking into your own account. Check whether the system supports it and how much it takes from it.
How to choose
- The total monthly cost, including the website, SMS and any commission, not just the booking subscription.
- The number of steps for the client from opening the link to a confirmed booking.
- The languages of the booking page and of the emails the client receives.
- Client export. If you ever leave, you need to take your client list with you.
- Where the data is stored, ideally in the EU.
